About Materials Preservation

Materials Preservation is an independent organization dedicated to providing solutions to materials preservation problems. Founded by Dr. Patrick Gallagher in 1982, Materials Preservation provides materials technology access and consulting services to the arts, architecture, industry, transportation, and the infrastructure. With over 30 years of experience in corrosion failure analysis, corrosion- and deterioration-resistant design and remediation, and report writing, Dr. Gallagher is positioned to efficiently solve a wide variety of materials preservation issues. Materials in his experience include bare steels, weathering steel, painted steel, metallic-coated steel, stainless steel, plastics, elastomers such as natural rubber and polyurethane, and advanced composites such as glass-epoxy and carbon-epoxy. Expert witness testimony in dispute resolution and litigation is a specialty of Materials Preservation.
